The “Mountain to Bar” motto describes a special lifestyle, unique to Portland and the rest of the Pacific Northwest, that brings together the stimulation of urban living and the fun and excitement of outdoor activity.  Cities like Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver B.C. were designed with large urban parks and are surrounded by mountains, beaches, forests and other wild spaces. Within an hour’s drive from the city center, one can be immersed in the rugged and ancient Northwest forests and wilderness.

Portlanders give special value to the environment, sustainable practices, urban livability, and local self reliance (i.e. Urban Planning, biking as the primary mode of transportation, natural conservation, repurposed/up-cycling and recycling, locavore food movement, “Made in Oregon”, artisan craftsmanship).

As a design philosophy, MOUNTAIN TO BAR fuses American Heritage Style (outdoorsman, lumberjack, working-man), Street fashion fit and detail (informal, individual self expression), and performance technology(taken from authentic outdoor gear) to make garments that are equally at home in an outdoor or urban setting.
